Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of northern Kentucky’s Licking River Valley,  Pendleton County, Kentucky lies 27 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio, 40 miles north of Lexington, Kentucky, 99 miles lickling river valleynortheast of Louisville, Kentucky, and has a land area of 280 square miles.  The northeast portion of the county is bounded by the Ohio River, and the Licking River flows northward through the central area of the county.  The City of Falmouth, the county seat, is located at the conflux of the main Licking River and its south fork, in the center of Pendleton County. The City of Butler also lies on the Licking River, 10 miles north of Falmouth.
